入木三分rù mù sān fēn相传晋代书法家王羲之在木板上写字,刻字的人发现墨汁透入木板有三分深(见于唐代张怀瓘《书断》)。后用来形容书法有力,也用来比喻议论深刻。{According to Appraisal of Calligraphy by Zhang Huaiguan of the Tang Dynasty, when an engraver was working on a piece of calligraphy written by the celebrated Jin-dynasty calligrapher Wang Xizhi on a piece of wood, he found that the strokes were so forceful that the ink had penetrated the wood board by 3 fen. Hence the phrase, ‘penetrating the board by three fen’, referring to forceful handwriting, or the profundity of a viewpoint or an observation.} |
