| 释义 | ‘元方难为弟,季方难为兄’(见于《世说新语·德行篇》)。意思是元方好得做他弟弟难,季方好得做他哥哥难。后来用‘难兄难弟’形容兄弟都非常好。今多反用,讥讽两人同样坏。{Chen Yuanfang and Chen Jifang were two brothers lived in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and their sons were locked in a heated debate on whose father had performed greater merits for the country. The debate being inconclusive, they went to ask their grandfather, Chen Shi, for a judgment. The old man said, ‘Yuanfang has done so well that it is hard for anyone to be his younger brother, while Jifang has do so well that it is hard for anyone to be his elder brother.’(See A New Account of Tales of the World·Virtue).
