先河xiānhé古代帝王先祭祀黄河,后祭祀海,以河为海的本源(见《礼记·学记》)。后来称倡导在先的事物为先河{originating river of the sea; the beginning of sth.; sth. that is first proposed or initiated. According to the rites of ancient times, the emperors or kings offered sacrifices first to the Yellow River and then to the sea, regarding the river as the origin of the sea (The Book of Rites·Rites of Education)}:
