罗掘luójué〈书fml.〉原指城被围困,粮食断绝,只得罗雀(张网捉麻雀)掘鼠(挖洞捕老鼠)来充饥的困窘情况(见于《新唐书·张巡传》)。后用来比喻尽力筹措或搜索财物{catch birds with nets and rats by digging holes, in order to allay one's hunger in a besieged city that has run out of food (New History of Tang·Biography of Zhang Xun); (fig.) try one's utmost to scrape up money; try hard to survive in dire straits}:
多方～{try all sorts of ways to scrape up money}|～俱穷{all sources of money and goods exhausted}|～一空。{use up everything} |
