三伏sānfú
1.初伏、中伏、末伏的统称。夏至后第三个庚日是初伏第一天,第四个庚日是中伏第一天,立秋后第一个庚日是末伏第一天,初伏、末伏各十天,中伏十天或二十天。通常也指从初伏第一天到末伏第十天的一段时间。三伏天一般是一年中天气最热时期。{three fu; dog days; periods of summer heat wave, each beginning with a day of geng (the day when the 7th Heavenly Stem crosses an Earthly Branch).
