稷jì
1.〈古代arch.〉称一种粮食作物,有的书说是黍一类的作物,有的书说是谷子(粟)。{millet; grain crop in ancient times; some books say it is broomcorn millet and some books say it is millet}
2.〈古代arch.〉以稷为百谷之长,因此帝王奉祀为谷神{millet was the foremost of all cereals in ancient times, and emperors worshipped it as the God of Grains}:
