程门立雪Chéng mén lì xuě宋代杨时在下雪天拜谒著名学者程颐,程颐瞑目而坐,杨时不敢惊动,在旁站立等待。程颐醒来,门前积雪已经一尺深了(见于《宋史·杨时传》)。后来用‘程门立雪’形容尊师重道,恭敬受教。{Yang Shi of the Song Dynasty paid a visit to the celebrated scholar Cheng Yi one snowy day. According to History of Song·Biography of Yang Shi, when Yang arrived, he saw the scholar sitting there with his eyes closed. As Yang Shi hated to disturb the scholar, he stood outside, waiting. When Cheng Yi woke up, the snow had accumulated a foot deep on the ground before his door. This anecdote was later used as an example of reverence for a teacher.} |
