1.指打电报的时候所用的符号,通常有两种。一种是用时间长短不同的电流脉冲(点和画)来组成各种符号代替字母和数字,叫做不均匀电码。一种是用时间长短相同而电流方向不同或有电、无电的电流脉冲来组成各种符号,叫做均匀电码。{telegraphic code; system of signals used to represent letters or numbers in transmitting messages, usu. of two types, one using electric current pulses of different lengths (dot and graph) to make up different symbols to stand for letters and numbers, known as asymmetry code, the other using electric current of the same time length but of different directions, or power-on and power-off current pulses to make up various symbols, known as uniform code}
