民族区域自治mínzú qūyù zìzhì中国共产党运用马克思列宁主义关于民族问题的理论,结合我国具体情况而制定的解决民族问题的基本政策。根据这个政策,各少数民族以自己的聚居区域的大小不同而建立自治区、自治州和自治县等自治机关,在国务院统一领导下,除行使一般地方国家机关职权外,可以依照法律规定的权限行使自治权。{regional autonomy of minority ethnic people; regional ethnic autonomy; fundamental policy made and practised by the Communist Party of China by applying the Marxist-Leninist theory on ethnic issues in the light of the actual conditions in China to deal with ethnic affairs.
