执著zhízhuó原为佛教用语,指对某一事物坚持不放,不能超脱。后来指固执或拘泥,也指坚持不懈{persistent; persevering; inflexible; rigid; work unflaggingly}: 性情古板～{be rigid and inflexible}|不要～于生活琐事{Don't be inflexible over trivial matters.}|～地献身于祖国的教育事业。{devote oneself to the motherland's education cause;}也作also执着{zhízhuó}。
