彼岸bǐ'àn
1.〈书fml.〉(江、河、湖、海的)那一边;对岸。{(of a river, lake, sea, etc.) other bank; other side}
2.〈佛教Budd.〉认为有生有死的境界好比此岸,超脱生死的境界(涅︴)好比彼岸。{other shore; the other world; Faramita. The realm of life and death is this life; while the one free from life and death (nirvana) is the other.}
3.〈比喻fig.〉所向往的境界{realm to which one looks forward}:
走向幸福的～。{march towards the path of happiness} |
