左券zuǒquàn〈古代arch.〉称契约为券,用竹做成,分左右两片,立约的各拿一片,左券常用做索偿的凭证。后来说有把握叫操左券。{Contract was called quan in ancient times, which consisted of two bamboo slips, one left and the other right, with each party keeping one of them, the left slip being held as evidence for claiming compensation.
