变态biàntài
1.某些动物在个体发育过程中的形态变化,例如某些昆虫(蚊、蝇等)经过卵、幼虫、蛹、成虫四个时期,称为完全变态;另外一些昆虫(蝉、蝗虫等)不经过蛹期直接变为成虫,称为不完全变态;还有一些昆虫(虱、衣鱼等)自卵孵化后的幼体,除体小、性未成熟外,其他形状、习性与成虫相似,称为无变态。此外,蛙类经过蝌蚪变为成熟的蛙也叫变态。{metamorphosis; change of form in the development of some animals or insects, e.g. mosquitoes and flies undergo the four stages of eggs, larva, pupa and maturity known as complete metamorphosis.
