ㄗㄞヽ副词 adv.
1.表示又一次（有时专指第二次） again; once more (esp. the second time)：一而～，～而三 yī ér zài, zài ér sān time and again/ 一～表示 yīzài biǎoshì declare it over and over again/ ～版 zàibǎn second edition ［再三 -sān］副词，不止一次地，一次又一次地 adv. repeatedly; time and time again：～～考虑 zàisān kǎolǜ consider sth. over and over again
2.表示事情或行为重复，继续，多指未然（与“又”不同） used to indicate the repetition or continuity of an action yet to take place (different from “又”)：明天～来 míngtiān zài lái Come here again tomorrow./ 雨不会～下了 Yǔ bùhuì zài xià le. It will not rain any longer.
3.连接两个动词，表示先后的关系 (used to connect two verbs, indicating one action preceding the other) then; only then：吃完饭～去学习 chīwán fàn zài qù xuéxí Have your meal and then go to study./ 把材料整理好了～动笔写 bǎ cáiliào zhěnglǐ hǎole zài dòngbǐ xiě Get the materials settled before you begin to write.
4.更，更加 (used before adjectives) more; even more：～好没有了 zài hǎo méiyǒu le It couldn't be any better./ ～大一点就好了 zài dà yīdiǎnr jiù hǎo le It will be better if it is a bit bigger.
5.表示另外有所补充 in addition; on top of that：～则 zàizé moreover; furthermore; besides/ 盘里放着葡萄、鸭梨，～就是苹果 Pánr li fàngzhe pútɑo, yārlí, zài jiùshì píngguǒ. There are grapes, pears, as well as apples in the plate. |
