显（顯）xiǎn

1.露在外面容易看出来 be exposed and easily seen：～而易见 xiǎn'éryìjiàn obviously; evidently/ 这个道理是很～然的 Zhège dàoli shì hěn xiǎnrán de. The lesson in it is quite obvious.
2.表现，露出 show; reveal; display：～示 xiǎnshì demonstrate; manifest/ ～微镜 xiǎnwēijìng microscope/ 没有高山，不～平地 Méiyǒu gāoshān, bù xiǎn píngdì. The land needs high mountain to demonstrate its plainness.
3.旧称有名声、地位、权势的 indicating the distinguished, the influential and the authoritative in former times：～ 贵 xiǎnguì distinguish people/ ～宦 xiǎnhuàn high-ranking (or senior) officials
4.敬辞（称先人） a respectful address (of the deceased)：～考 xiǎnkǎo my late father/ ～妣 xiǎnbǐ my late mother |
