1.地面上由土石构成高起的部分 hill; mountain：深～ shēnshān remote mountains/ ～高水深 shāngāo-shuǐshēn Mountains are high and rivers are deep (fig. a difficult journey)/ 人～人海（喻人多） rénshān-rénhǎi a great lot of people
2.蚕蔟 a bunch of straw in which silk worms spin cocoons：蚕上～了 Cán shàngshān le. The silkworms have gone into the straw bundles to spin their cocoons.
3.山墙，房屋两头的墙 gable, the three-cornered upper end of a wall, meeting the sloping roofs：房～ fángshān gable of a house. |
