2.不让别人离开 ask sb. To stay; keep sb. Where he is：挽～ wǎnliú urge sb. To stay on/ 他一定要走，我～不住他 Tā yīdìng yào zǒu, wǒ liúbuzhù tā. Since he was determined to leave, I couldn't keep him here./ ～难（故意和人为难） liúnàn make things difficult for sb.; put obstacles in sb.'s way
3.接受，收容 accept; take ( comb. 收- shōu- take sb in)：把礼物～下 bǎ lǐwù liúxiɑ accept the gift
4.保留 reserve; keep：～余地 liú yúdì allow for unforeseen circumstances; leave some leeway/ ～胡子 liú húzi grow a beard (of moustache)/ 今天请给我～饭 Jīntiān qǐng gěi wǒ liúfàn. Please save some food for me today.
