1.山谷，两山中间的水道。又指两山之间 valley; gorge; ravine：万丈深～ wànzhàng shēngǔ an extremely deep valley
2.庄稼和粮食的总称 a general term for crops and food：五～ wǔgǔ the five cereals (rice, two kinds of millet, wheat and beans)
3.(-子 -zi)一种禾本科植物，子实碾去皮以后就成小米，供食用，茎可喂牲口 millet, a plant of the grass family. The husked seeds will become millet and can be cooked into food. The stalk can feed livestock.
4.〈方 dial.〉稻，也指稻的子实 rice or the seeds of rice：糯～ nuògǔ glutinous rice/ 粳(jīng)～ jīnggǔ polished round-grained-non-glutinous rice/ 轧(yà)～机 yàgǔjī crusher yù |
