1.只，仅，只要 only; merely：～愿能成功 dànyuàn néng chénggōng Let's hope for success./ 我们不～保证完成任务，还要提高质量 Wǒmen bùdàn bǎozhèng wánchéng rènwu, háiyào tígāo zhìliàng. We not only guarantee to accomplish the task, but also improve the quality. ［但凡 -fán］只要 as long as：～～我有工夫，我就去看他 Dànfán wǒ yǒu gōngfu, wǒ jiù qù kàn tā. I will go to see him as long as I have time.
2.连词，但是，不过 conj. but; nevertheless：我们热爱和平，～也不怕战争 Wǒmen rè'ài hépíng, dàn yě bù pà zhànzhēng. We love peace, but we don't fear wars. |
